About the Event
Free Guided Tour: A Sudbury Pub Crawl Through Time
Tour begins at 12.15 on Sunday 16th October 2022, the tour will take approx. 1.5hrs. Part of our rescheduled Heritage Open Days programme 2022.
With over thirty years experience as an Innkeeper and the author of “A Pub Crawl Through Time” Peter Thorogood hopes not only relate the lives of our local characters but also to share with you some of the amazing news events of those times, from the great fires that destroyed our two finest coaching houses, the town riots, but above all those wonderful bucolic days when our packed pubs were the centre of our town’s very being. And of course our tour ending with a refreshing jar or two in one of our remaining independent hostelrys.
Tour Meet point: Pop up information stand adjacent to the Gainsborough Statue on Market Hill, Sudbury, CO10 2EA (Near St Peter's Church)
